Version 0.05 was released in 2000 by Petru Paler, petru@paler.net,
formerly ppetru (at) coltronix.com. This version was a successful
proof of the concept that a one-file-per-object scheme could provide a
high performance ZODB storage, if backed by the right filesystem.

Versions 0.10 and later were released in 2002 by Toby Dickenson,
tdickenson@geminidataloggers.com. This version added robust
transactions, undo, snapshot mode, and support for filesystems that do
not efficiently handle large directories,
